Short Scripts

Get SQL Edition, ServicePack, And Version Number In One Line script.

I usually include this single script in with any enterprise wide reports to get an idea of the SQL Edition, Service Pack, and Version numbers. You could also insert this into a an auditing table to check your versioning over a period of time. I might write up some logic later on to include all that.

use master; select cast(serverproperty(‘edition’) as varchar(50)) + ‘ ‘ + cast(serverproperty(‘productlevel’) as varchar(50)) + ‘ ‘ + cast(serverproperty(‘productversion’) as varchar(50)) as ‘SQL Server Version Info’
